Available Is A Complete Desktop CNC System
See the YouTube vidoes of the unit in operation drawing or cutting material.
Part 1: The Router
The system is the WidgitMaster Midi Router, custom made and designed by WidgitMaster Inc. The unit features:
Maximum Axial Travel Limits
X-Axis 8.250" (209.5500 mm)
Y-Axis 9.125" (231.7750 mm)
Z-Axis 3.900" (099.0600 mm)
T-Slot Plate Width: 11.250" (285.750 mm)
T-Slot Plate Length: 12.000" (304.8000 mm)
Opening Under Gantry: 3.900" (99.0600 mm)
Height: 11.45" (290.83 mm)
Width: 13.2" (335.28 mm)
Length: 12.50" (317.5 mm)
The system is perfect for drilling holes or cutting circuit board traces, Carving Machinable Wax, Wood, Soft Non-Ferrous Metals, or Plastics! Making Small RC-Model Parts! Customized 3D Modeling Engraving Name Plates or Jewelry, drawing on CD's!
This router was designed to move cutting tool with extreme precision! Much effort was made to remove the "endplay" and "backlash" from all moving parts! All parts are either MIC-6 or 6061-T6 Aluminum precision machined to be flat, parallel, and square within .001" tolerance! This router is ready to accept any NEMA-23 stepper motors, has existing threaded holes for each motor. The X-Axis slides on .500 dia. Thomson linear rails, with SUPER-8 ball bushings! Y&Z-Axis slides use Thomson linear rails fastened to a solid aluminum sub-plate by stainless steel screws, along with precision machined bronze bushings. All three axis have acme lead screws with 10 threads per inch, and solid Delrin plastic nuts to eliminate all backlash! Both ends of all three acme screws are anchored in quality all steel double shielded ball bearings, precision fitted to eliminate any endplay! The ends of the shafts protrude 1" x .250 Dia. with flat milled for set screws and motor couplings. The router table has five 1/4" T-slots, for easy setups, and fastening of vises, parts and fixtures! The Z-Axis has three 1/8" T-Slots for easy fastening of various spindle and engraving tools.
Included with the base Router is a Proxxon IB/E rotary tool along with tool holder. I also have a Dremel tool Dremel tool holder which I will include at no extra cost.
I have also added high-quality sealed limit switches to all three axis and wired to a separate control box which interfaces directly to a HobbyCNC PRO Driver Board.
This unit was handmade one at a time by WidgitMaster.
See Web Site for more details and pictures.
Part 2: The Drivers and Control
To drive the router, we have a professionally assembled and tested HobbyCNC Pro Chopper Driver system along with three 305oz-in stepper motors. All completely wired and tested, mounted in a Pactec DM-4 case along with a heavy duty 10A 24v power transformer.
This complete system was acquired, fully assembled and tested, but has seen no production use. Unfortunately I just do not have the room in my small shop for this equipment and it is time to make some room. I am very motivated to sell both the Router and Drivers as a complete working package. All of these units are fully assembled. The CNC Router can be disassembled for shipment if needed but weighs approximately 11.5kg in a box sized about 38cm x 38cm x 25cm and you can reassemble. The Driver portion itself would require another separate box, complete with stepper motors is about 10kg and would require a box of about the same size 38cm x 38cm x 25cm.
Local pickup is available at no extra charge in the Greater Toronto area (Mississauga around 403 and Mavis).

Overview: This card has been designed to provide a flexible interface and functions to your computer projects, by using the parallel port control software. This board provides a faster way to connect devices and reduce the possibility of wiring errors.
Features:
Fully optoisolated The card isolates connections to protect your computer from short-circuit. An opto-isolator is an integrated circuit that transmits the signal through an encapsulated LED and phototransistor. When the signal is on, the LED lights up, the phototransistor captures it and relays the signal. In that way, your computer's electronics are completely isolated from the cnc circuitry. The signals are transmitted through light and not through physical connections. In this way, a power surge has no way of reaching your computer. That is the reason why this card has two power connections. One power connection is power powering the circuit that interacts with the PC, the other connection is for powering the circuit that interacts with your cnc system. Extra precautions have been taken when designing this circuit, by taking into consideration the extremely high voltages that stepper drivers can achieve and lack of experience that some users could have in wiring circuits of this kind.
Buffered outputs. All inputs and outputs are buffered through the use of high speed and high power buffers. Each pins deliver 24 milliamps.
PULL-UP or PULL-DOWN selection for inputs. Includes jumpers to select the best input configuration for your application.
IEEE 1284 Standard compatible. Includes the circuitry recommended by the IEEE 1284 Level 1 standards for bidirectional parallel communications between personal computers and peripherals
The common terminal to pins 2-9 can be ground or +5vdc. The board has a jumper that allows you to select if the common terminal to pins 2-9 will carry a ground or +5vdc. So if you are connecting encoders or proximity switches, you can select it to ground. If you are connecting Geckodrives or limit switches, you can set it to be +5vdc.

here for more information).
Many of the computers we use have weak voltage signals coming out of the printer port where the CNC step and direction signals originate, to send to your stepper motor driver boards. This neat device will take those low (in the range of 3.5 volt signals) and boost them to 5 volts to help your driver board understand the signals.
This in-line signal booster, and print port protector double isolates your printer port on the most used CNC lines; 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,14,16, and 17. It is powered by a five volt source separate from the 5 volts from your printer port. The five volt power source for the protector circuit is converted into useable signals instead of using the printer port 5 volt signals directly; they just become pattern signals that are two steps of isolation away from the new output signal that goes to your stepper motor controller. It works with step and direction signals, and or any high low signal from your port.
Another big advantage of this circuit is that the signals that go to your stepper motor driver are usually a full 5 volts (depending on your 5 v. Power source to the protector.) Many computers and laptops only put out about 3 volts and in some cases not enough to trigger the step on your motor driver. This in line circuit also solves that problem.
