Infrared LED Illuminator

Imagine being able to see in total darkness, it's easy with any standard CCD video camera and our LED DISC IR Infra-Red illuminator! Most CCD TV cameras, as well as night vision scopes, are sensitive to IR light. If you illuminate objects with IR, the camera will see as though being lit by a floodlight - but will look completely dark to the unaided human eye.

There's nothing magic about this board - it's just a circular array using 24 high intensity IR LED's and appropriate drive circuitry. The real magic is your CCD video camera. CCD sensors are sensitive to IR light that you can't see, thus illuminate the scene with IR and the camera sees just fine. Small size allows easy hiding in clocks, smoke detectors, pictures or any object you can think of. Place a piece of smoked plexiglass in front (it looks clear to IR) and you’ve hidden your IR light source. The whole array will illuminate similar to what you'd expect of a bright flashlight.

Our LED DISC IR is built using 24 high-output 850nm or 940nm 120° LEDs mounted on a 42.1mm (1.66") diameter board with an aluminum backing for heat dissipation with a rated output of 480mW/Sr. Power requirements for the board are 12v to 14v DC with a maximum current draw of approximately 200mA. Board comes fully assembled and tested.
