Wide 120º Viewing Angle

A Straw Hat LED has a unique lens design which causes the LED to disperse light similar to that of an incandescent light bulb. A standard LED has a relatively narrow area where it emits light,  usually less than 45 degrees. A Straw Hat LED projects light at a much wider viewing angle usually approximately 120 degrees.

The wider viewing angle distributes the emitted light over a wider area eliminating the needs for external lens designs. Although not as common as standard 5mm LEDs, their costs remain consistently as low as the standard 5mm LED.

Straw Hat LEDs are available in a wide variety of colours and are equally as bright as standard 5mm LEDs.
