Complete Assembly with Four Powerpole® Connectors Installed

Anderson Powerpole® connectors are widely used for reliable DC power connections in Amateur Radio, Robotics (including FIRST Robotics), and eBike applications.

Each Powerpole® connector consists of two main components: the housing and the electrical contacts. Housings are available in eleven different colours, with red and black being the most common. Contacts are offered in three current ratings:

• 15A (accepts 20–16 AWG wire)
• 30A (accepts 16–12 AWG wire)
• 45A (accepts 14–10 AWG wire)

All contact ratings are compatible with the same housing.

Contacts are typically crimped for best performance, although soldering is also possible.

Powerpole® connectors are genderless, meaning identical connectors mate together. Polarization is achieved by configuring the housings using the molded dovetail features.

The housings are made from high-impact, high-temperature polycarbonate with a flammability rating. The design allows airflow through the connector to aid cooling during operation.

A stainless-steel spring ensures consistent pressure between contacts, providing a reliable connection even with frequent connect and disconnect cycles.

Panel Mount Assembly

This panel mount comes pre-assembled with four genuine Powerpole® connector housings (2 red and 2 black). Four contacts (15A, 30A, or 45A—your choice) are included for installation.

The mounting hole diameter is 1-1/8", making installation simple with a standard hole saw or drill.

ARRL / ARES Compatibility

Powerpole-style DC connectors are widely used in ARRL ARES (Amateur Radio Emergency Service) environments, where standardized and reliable DC power connections are essential.

Their genderless design and consistent configuration support quick interchange between radios, batteries, and power distribution systems without the need for adapters.

Widely adopted by emergency communications groups across North America, this connector style promotes consistent polarity, rapid deployment, and dependable operation in field and portable applications.

This panel mount provides a clean and organized way to integrate Powerpole connections into 12V and 24V DC power distribution panels, enclosures, and systems used in both fixed and portable setups.
