Anderson Powerpole® connectors are widely used for reliable DC power connections in amateur radio, robotics, FIRST Robotics, and eBike systems.

Anderson Powerpole connectors are widely used in ARRL ARES (Amateur Radio Emergency Service) environments where standardized and reliable DC power connections are essential. Their design allows quick, consistent connections between radios, batteries, and power systems without adapters.

Used extensively by emergency communications groups across North America, Powerpole connectors help ensure consistent polarity, fast deployment, and dependable performance in demanding field applications.

Connector Overview

Each Powerpole connector consists of two main components: the housing and the electrical contact. Housings are available in multiple colours, with red and black being the most commonly used for DC power applications.

Contacts are available in three current ratings:

• 15A – accepts 20–16 AWG wire
• 30A – accepts 16–12 AWG wire
• 45A – accepts 14–10 AWG wire

All contact sizes fit into the same housing, allowing flexible configuration based on your application.

Assembly Notes

The preferred installation method is crimping the contacts using a proper crimp tool, although soldering can also be used.

When assembled, the housings slide together to form a polarized connector pair, ensuring correct alignment and reliable connection.
