DIY 18-LED Infrared Illuminator Kit (850nm or 940nm)

The DIY IR 18-LED Spotlight Jr Kit is a compact infrared illuminator kit and CCTV illuminator designed for security cameras, CCTV systems, night vision applications, robotics and general electronics projects. Choose either 850nm or 940nm infrared LEDs mounted on a compact 1.6-inch (41mm) diameter circular PCB.

This do-it-yourself kit contains 18 infrared LEDs arranged in a circular spotlight pattern on a jet-black PCB. The kit is supplied unassembled and includes all major components required for assembly.

Kit Contents

• Bare LED SpotLight PC board
• 850nm Option: 18 of the IR (infrared) 850nm LEDs (IC601-02)
• 940nm Option: 18 of the IR (infrared) 940nm LEDs (IC401-04)
• 6 x 560ohm resistors

Simply add a power supply rated from 12V DC to 14V DC to complete your project. The kit can be powered using one of our inexpensive DC wall adapter.

850nm vs 940nm Infrared LEDs

850nm Infrared LEDs

• Higher infrared output
• Better illumination range for most camera applications
• May produce a faint visible red glow during operation

940nm Infrared LEDs

• Virtually invisible to the human eye
• Ideal for covert applications
• Slightly reduced illumination performance compared to 850nm LEDs
