0.1-inch (2.54mm) Pitch Spacing with Male or Female Contacts

The DuPont crimp terminals are also known as Amphenol FCI Mini-PV compatible connectors.

Each consists of a set of male or female (most common) terminals inside a plastic housing which can hold either male or female terminals or a mixed combination.

Terminals are crimped onto a 20-26 AWG wire and inserted into the DuPont style housing.

The connectors feature a pitch spacing of 2.54mm (0.1-inch) and are compatible with breadboards or any application where a 2.54mm pitch device is needed including CNC, RAMPS, Arduino headers, CNC shields and more.

DuPont style connectors are the ubiquitous connectors used for making solder and solderless breadboard jumpers as they come in both male and female contacts that mate with 2.54mm / 0.1-inch standard male and female headers as well as breadboard contacts.

Another feature is the housing is also very easy to get contacts in and out of. If you decide you want to change from individual jumpers to one that has a multi-pin housing for hooking up to a sensor for instance, you can easily pop the current housing off and replace with a more appropriately sized housing.

There is a plastic tab which locks the contact in place. If this tab is lifted slightly, the contact slides out. If contacts don’t want to stay in the housing, the plastic tab can usually be pressed down a bit to lock the contact in place.

Contacts

Contacts for the DuPont style connector are available in either Male or Female. The most common contact is the Female but the versetilty of the connector housing allows for either Male or Female to be used or a mixture of both.

Connectors are available in various pin-count options and include either male or female contacts.
