58mm 20-LED Meteor Tube

The LED Meteor is a unique display with an onboard LED filament (see our selection of 3V and 12V LED filaments) containing 20 individual LEDs. The primary display shows a cascading display of LEDs.

LED Meteors feature are high brightness and available in several colours. They operate on voltages from 3-5V DC and require less than 20mA of current making them an excellent hobbyist display. Combine multiple displays of different colours to create many magical and beautiful combinations according to your personal needs.

Two Operating Models Available

There are two models of the LED Meteor Tube available.

2-Function: This model of meteor tube features the standard cascading meteor effect with the 20-LEDs while the other function has all LEDs turned on.

4-Function: Similar to the 2-Function model with the standard cascading meteor effect with the 20-LEDs, all LEDs turned on, flickering mode along with on-off flashing of all LEDs.

With both models, as soon as power is applied, the module begins with the cascading meteor effect. Removing power and reapplying power right away will toggle the Meteor Tube to the next effect.

58mm 20-LED Meteor Tube Dropping Resistor Selection

The 58mm meteor tube operates efficiently on voltages from 3-5V DC at up to 20mA. Care should be taken to limit the current with the use of a Dropping Resistor. The value of the resistor will vary depending on the supply voltage. For example, if running the meteor tube on 5V DC, the chart below shows an optimal resistor value of 68 ohm. Without the dropping resistor, your LED will have a drastically shorter life. We offer a full range of 1/4 and 1/2 watt resistor.
