Zero Insertion Force (ZIF) IC Sockets are ideal for prototyping and testing where you need to swap your chips frequently.
Before inserting the IC, the lever on the side of the ZIF socket is moved, pushing all the sprung contacts apart so the IC can be inserted with negligible force. The weight of the IC itself is sufficient, and no external downward force is required. Available in 24, 28, 32, 40, and 48 pin models.
