The HC-06 Bluetooth Wireless Module is a class 2 slave Bluetooth module for wireless serial communication. Once it is paired to a master Bluetooth device such as a PC, smartphone, or tablet, its operation becomes transparent to the user. All data received through the serial input is immediately transmitted over the air. When the module receives wireless data, it is sent out through the serial interface exactly at it is received. The user microcontroller program needs no user code specific to the Bluetooth module.

The HC-06 requires a supply voltage of 3.6V DC to 6V DC. The logic level of RXD and TXD pins is 3.3V and is not 5V tolerant. A Logic Level Converter or voltage divider is recommended to protect the sensor if connecting to a 5V device.

The module incorporates a built-in 2.4GHz antenna, operates at a default baud rate of 9600,8,n,1, and has an effective range of 10m (30 feet).
