SMD 0603 LED Dimensions

SMD LEDs are available in several standard sizes:

• 0603 (1608 Metric): 1.6mm x 0.8mm
• 0805 (2012 Metric): 2.0mm x 1.25mm
• 1206 (3216 Metric): 3.2mm x 1.6mm

Power Requirements

Important: These LEDs do NOT include a current-limiting resistor.

A current-limiting resistor must be used in series to prevent damage.

Typical operating current is up to 20mA, with 2mA–15mA recommended for longer lifespan.

Safe Resistor Option (3V–15V)

For general use, an 820 ohm 1/4 watt resistor is a safe choice.

Hooking Up Your LED

All LEDs require a current-limiting resistor. Without one, the LED may fail instantly.
