Specifications

These LEDs are widely used in electronics projects for model railway lighting, vehicle indicators, dioramas, and other miniature lighting applications where extremely small size and minimal visibility are critical.

Compared to incandescent bulbs, SMD LEDs run cooler, last longer, and are available in a wide variety of colours (colors).

The SMD LEDs are some of the smallest light sources available and can be very difficult to solder wires to without specialized tools and experience.

We offer these prewired SMD LEDs with a pair of 11-inch (28cm) connection wires already attached along with a built-in dropping resistor allowing for safe connection to supply voltages of 8V to 18V. If you are experienced and have the necessary fine soldering equipment, we also offer the same LEDs in DIY bulk options along with versions without resistors (see our SMD LED options) to help reduce costs when wiring your own LEDs.

Power Requirements

These LEDs already have a series resistor installed, which allows them to operate over a wide voltage range without needing a separate resistor. Although conservatively rated for 8–18V, they can safely run from 5V to 18V.
