This display board accommodates three LED Beads on a 76mmx22mm (3-inch x 0.9-inch) aluminum PCB. Useful in applications where a LED spotlight is required, such as for IR (Infrared), UV, or even standard color LEDs.

The LEDs on the board are all connected in Series. Each base plate has an aluminum backing and is designed to accommodate standard 2-pin 1 watt, 3 watt, or 5 watt LED Beads

Versatility and Expansion 

The display panel is designed to be used individually or can also be daisy-chained in an end-to-end configuration. Simply apply power to the + and - connections on the main input board, join the outputs of the board to the input of the next board as shown. The final board in the chain will require a single jumper across the two right-most pads.

Heat Dissipation Considerations

The aluminum base plate pulls heat away from the LED Beads. The plate should be attached to a larger heat sink to provide full cooling of the LEDs through the pre-drilled mounting holes. The board alone does not provide sufficient heat sink capability to handle the full power of the LED.

When soldering the LED to the board, it is critical to use thermal paste between the LED's body and the center board pad. The thermal paste ensures efficient heat transfer from the LED. If using hot air or a hot plate to reflow the solder to mount the LED, it is possible to use solder paste under the LED to solder the LED to the center pad rather than using thermal paste. The solder provides ideal thermal coupling.

Since the board is constructed of aluminum, it is a small heat sink, be sure to use a good quality soldering iron with at least a medium-size tip for soldering the connections.
